The Wee Choo Choo

Pre - Event - Dining

Many of our clients like to dine before going on to a pre-booked event. Perhaps The Festival Theatre or, at some times of year, The Enchanted Forest.

If you are intending to join us before your event please be sure to allow 2.5 hours in the restaurant plus the time it may take to get to your destination.

All your food choices will be lovingly prepared from scratch and this takes time. It’s the way we ensure that everything arrives cooked to perfection, fresh and fragrant – so you experience a real Wee Choo Choo moment. Thank you.

Our Story

The Wee Choo Choo and the Railway Carriage Restaurant

This might be Pitlochry’s most unique and exciting dining experience! Step aboard our beautifully restored 1960s Norwegian railway carriage, made famous by its starring role in the Hollywood blockbuster “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.”

The Wee Choo-Choo - the railway carriage restaurant

At The Wee Choo Choo, we offer an unforgettable journey through the vibrant flavours of authentic Thai cuisine. Our restaurant isn’t just a place to eat – it’s a piece of cinematic history. This iconic carriage was featured in a thrilling sequence alongside Tom Cruise, adding an element of adventure and intrigue to your dining experience.

Our restaurant is a dream realized by a dynamic daughter-and-mother team. Hailing from Southern Thailand, Mia and Isara have called Scotland home for over a decade. Mia, from Phuket, is the heart of our front-of-house operations, ensuring impeccable service and a seamless dining experience. Isara also from Southern Thailand, is our head chef, bringing her lifelong passion for traditional Thai cooking to the heart of Scotland and skilfully keeping wonderful Thai cuisine coming down the track.

Our menu features classic Thai dishes with a modern twist, crafted using recipes passed down from Mia’s great-grandfather. We focus on flavour, combining authentic ingredients from Thailand with locally sourced products from Scotland.

Join us at The Wee Choo Choo, set in our wonderful railway carriage restaurant.

You could  enjoy a dining experience where the rich cultural heritage of Southern Thailand meets the authentic charm of a vintage railway carriage. Relive the excitement of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” in Pitlochry and savour the extraordinary fusion of cinema and cuisine. Bon appétit!
